VSPR with a new role

The annual general meeting of the Association of Swiss Plastic Recyclers (VSPR) took place on April 2, 2025 at the OST - Ostschweizer Fachhochschule in Rapperswil. The event focused on the further development of the association - in particular its repositioning as a national competence center for plastics recycling.

Achieving impact together

2024 was a decisive year for the further development of the VSPR. With its clear positioning as a national competence center for plastics recycling, the association has strengthened its role and set an important course for the future - supported by a modernized communication concept with a new website, social media presence and standardized information materials.

Lectures with depth

Following the official part of the event, a varied specialist program awaited the participants. The guest speakers highlighted current developments in politics, administration, science and practice - and provided important impetus for the further development of plastic cycles in Switzerland.

  • Christian Imark, National Councillor and President of the UREK, outlined the environmental policy priorities at federal level.
  • Isabel Junker (FOEN) provided information on the ongoing work on the Dobler motion.
  • Dr. Esther Thiébaud (dss+) showed the volume flows for 2024.
  • Michael Gasser (Volutio GmbH) presented the VSPR pipe recycling pilot project.
  • Prof. Dr. Martin Däscher (OST) shed light on scientific perspectives on the circular economy.

Exchange and outlook

The discussions continued in an informal setting at the concluding drinks reception. The members' meeting showed once again: Swiss plastics recyclers are pulling in the same direction - for a low-plastic, resource-conserving future.

A big thank you to everyone involved for their dedicated participation!
